چکیده
Results 79% of patients had specific IgE to Can f1, 19% to Can f2, 12% to Can f3, and 35% to Can f5. 44% were monosensitized to Can f 1, 19.5% to Can f5 and 0.6% to Can f3. Can f1 was associated with persistent rhinitis (p 0.01), Can f3 with severity of rhinitis and asthma (p <0.01, p 0.01, respectively), and Can f5 to both persistence and severity of rhinitis (p 0.02, p >0.001, respectively). Sensitization to several allergens in patients (1, 2, 3 or 4) was associated with persistent asthma or rhinitis (p 0.04, p 0.01, respectively), and with moderate severity (p 0.03). Direct contact with dogs was associated with both, persistency and severity of rhinitis (p 0.02, p 0.03, respectively). The wheal diameters of skin test with commercial extract of dog were smaller in patients monosensitized to Can f 5.

An unusual necrotic myositis by Clostridium perfringens in a German Shepherd dog: A clinical report, bacteriological and molecular identification
Clostridial myositis, considered to be rare in pet animals, is an acutely fatal toxaemic condition. Some species of clostridia are responsible for necrotic myositis. A 2-year-old male German shepherd dog was admitted with non-weight bearing lameness and massive swelling of the left hind limb. Clostridium perfringens type A with alpha toxin was diagnosed as a pathogenic agent. Based on ...
متن کاملSensitivity Comparison of the Skin Prick Test and Serum and Fecal Radio Allergosorbent Test (RAST) in Diagnosis of Food Allergy in Children
Background: Diagnosis of food allergy is difficult in children. Food allergies are diagnosed using several methods that include medical histories, clinical examinations, skin prick and serum-specific immunoglobulin E (IgE) tests, radio-allergosorbent test (RAST), food challenge, and supervised elimination diets. In this study we evaluated allergies to cow's milk, egg, peanut, and fish in childr...
متن کاملDiagnosis and management of hypoglycaemia due to pancreatic insulin-secreting neoplasia in a German shepherd dog
A 7-year-old castrated male German shepherd dog was presented with a 10-day history of intermittent lethargy, weakness and episodic seizures. Laboratory findings after admission revealed hypoglycaemia and hyperinsulinaemia. Provisional diagnosis of insulinoma was made based on the presence of concurrent hypoglycaemia and elevated insulin level. In exploratory laparotomy a small nodular mass was...
متن کاملValidity of Using Recombinant Melon Profilin, Cuc m 2, for Diagnosis of Melon Allergy
Background: Allergy is a clinical disorder affecting humans worldwide. Allergenic extracts prepared from natural source materials remain heterogeneous in composition and content, but are regularly used for diagnosis and immunotherapy. Recombinant allergens are suitable candidates to use in place of natural allergens; however, the recombinant allergens should be assessed and compared with the na...
